Fee Information
Print Version

Addiction and Psychotherapy Services is a private clinic operating with no public funding. It is our philosophy to work without profits and we are proud to have highly qualified staff and the broadest range of services of any opiate treatment program in Texas.

We do not file insurance claims but we provide receipts with which you may file. Medicaid and Medicare do not cover methadone treatment.

PROGRAM FEES INCLUDE: medication prescription and supervision, group teaching and therapy (covering a wide range of issues related to abuse and addiction, mental health, physical health, self-help approaches, etc.), individual counseling, NADA (ear) acupuncture, pain management and appointments with the psychiatrist for treatment of mood and other disorders, as indicated. Family members and significant others are encouraged to participate in treatment at no additional cost (except non-clients are charged a $5.00 fee for ear acupuncture and yoga.)

You are expected to attend regularly and you will be charged for days you miss medication.

FEES

RAPID MEDICAL WITHDRAWAL, 10-21 days: buprenorphine (Suboxone): $600.00; methadone: $500.00

EXTENDED MEDICAL WITHDRAWAL, 1-3 MONTHS (methadone): $500.00 for first three weeks, then $65 weekly or, if transferring to maintenance treatment, fees as listed below.

Fees include intake evaluation and must be paid at time of admission. Treatment includes groups and close medical supervision. Follow-up treatment with naltrexone, AA/NA attendance, and further support services is recommended.

POLICIES REGARDING FORMER CLIENTS WITH A BALANCE:
When former patients who left us with an unpaid balance wish to be readmitted, we may make individual arrangements. We generally expect them to pay:
--  the full balance if previously at the clinic less than 6 months in treatment
--  at least half the back balance if previously in continuous treatment more than 6 months. The remainder of the balance is to be paid off as per agreement.

NON-PAYMENT POLICIES:

If you receive medication from us and you have a balance, your dosage will be decreased. The initial dose decrease is 10% of the regular dosage. The dosage will not be increased until the following Monday unless you pay your balance and the fee for the following week. A humane medical withdrawal for non-payment is started later in the first week or the beginning of the second week of non-payment. The physician determines in each case how rapid a medical withdrawal will be.

During a medical withdrawal for non-payment, the patient will be charged his or her regular weekly fee. We expect small payments several times per week as possible and recommend group attendance. In addition, the patient must pay $10 for extended counseling and $25 for physician appointments, to be applied to the patient's balance.

We do not issue buprenorphine prescriptions if the treatment fee for the time of the prescription is not paid.

If, because of short-term unusual circumstances, you cannot pay your fee on or before Monday, talk with your case manager and fill in a fee consideration request form one week in advance. State the circumstances and your commitment to pay. In reviewing your request, we will consider your time in treatment, group attendance, previous payment record, stability, etc.
